2. Dimbaya Horticultural Project
The community of Dimbaya in the West Coast Region of The Gambia and Southern Senegal presented to the Senegalo-Gambian Permanent Secretariat an ambitious horticultural project for possible funding. The proposal include detailed project analysis and costings. Its successful implementation will promote peace and stability in the area and engage the main beneficiaries, i.e. youths and women, as a way of reducing illegal migration.
1. Touba Tranquil / Darsilami Cross-Border Garden
The Permanent Secretariat made several visits to the cross-border community of Touba Tranquil /Dasilami between Gambia and Senegal where women developed a cross-border garden. The Permanent Secretariat facilitated submission of the project proposal for possible funding. The Cross-Border Garden has been approved by the United Nations Peace Building Fund under the 2021-2023 project “Supporting cross-border cooperation for increased community resilience and social cohesion in The Gambia and Senegal”.
3. Project proposal for banana plantation, poultry production and farming for Casamance Women Refugees in The Gambia
This project was submitted for funding by the Mamboureh Foundation for Education and Social Development, in partnership with Kansala Trust Organisation. The project location is in Foni Kansala District, The Gambia.
